Sandburg’s works will be featured at Johnson Hall

GARDINER — The Open Book Players will present its spring production of “The World of Carl Sandburg” April 7 and 8 at Johnson Hall Performing Arts Center, 280 Water St.
She show is 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 7, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 8.

The best of Sandburg’s works, adapted by Norman Corwin, will includ some previously unpublished works and prose, as well as parts from the biography of Lincoln, creating a mosaic sample of this Pulitzer Prize-winning writer’s literary contributions.
The performance is interspersed with American folk songs. The cast includes Frank Omar and Bill Haley of Hallowell, Arthur Bourget, David Moisan and Constance LaFlamme of Gardiner, Christine Heckman of Monmouth, Cindy Turcotte of Bowdoin, Ginger Smith of Winthrop, and Kathy Kauffman of Auburn. Music is provided by Robert Giroux of Belgrade and Curt Jack of Lewiston.
