The Winslow High School girls basketball team won the Class B State Championship Friday, March 2, at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor by defeating the Southern Maine champions from Lake Region 43-29. The sixth seeded Black Raiders beat the second-, third- and fifth-place teams to reach their goal. This was the girls’ first gold ball since 2005.
