AUGUSTA — Nicolas Patenaude has been promoted to assistant treasurer and finance officer at Kennebec Savings Bank, President and CEO Andrew Silsby announced.
Patenaude was previously financial analyst and finance officer, and in his new role he will take on additional financial oversight at the bank, according to a news release from the bank.

Patenaude has been with the bank since 2008, when he was hired as a college intern. He has been full time with the bank since May 2009, when he became part of the management trainee program. In 2011, he was promoted to loan officer before transitioning to finance.

“Nicolas is an exceptional individual and employee who over the years has raised the level of expertise in the bank’s finance area and has continued to demonstrate an outstanding work ethic,” said Silsby. “I’m proud to recognize Nicolas’ achievement to this well-deserved promotion.”

Patenaude is one of the many local people who make up the staff at the bank, the release said. He was born and raised in Augusta, earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in finance from the University of Maine and is also a graduate of the Kennebec Leadership Institute.
“Kennebec Savings Bank is a great place to work and I look forward to continuing my career in a place where personal and professional growth is encouraged. I’m doing what I love, and it means a lot to have a team that cares about my future,” said Patenaude.

Patenaude is active in the community, serving as the treasurer of Le Club Calumet Educational and Literary Foundation and on the finance committee of the Kennebec Valley YMCA. Patenaude resides in Manchester with his wife, Maria, and their son.

Kennebec Savings Bank has offices in Augusta, Waterville, Winthrop, Farmingdale and Freeport.
