GARDINER — Johnson Hall Performing Arts Center on Water Street will screen the documentary film “Food Fight” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19.
The directors will present the film as part of “Food, Film & Conversation.” Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth. Tickets are available at Johnson Hall’s Box Office from noon to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, by calling 207-582-7144 or by visiting their website, www.johnsonhall.org
Throughout the summer of 2014, a corporate food fight played out in dozens of communities impacting tens of thousands of workers and the economies of three states. When the faction of the Market Basket board headed by Arthur S. Demoulas fired his cousin and arch-rival, Arthur T. Demoulas, as long-time CEO of the successful supermarket chain, it set off a firestorm sparking one of most unique corporate dramas in American history. It’s what the New York Times called “the last stand for the middle class.”

This program is part of Johnson Hall’s Food, Film & Conversation Series in partnership with the Gardiner Food Co-Op. Food can be ordered up to the day before by calling the box-office at 207-582-7144. Food will waiting when patrons arrive for the show, or they can pick up the food order at the Gardiner Food Co-Op before the show and just show the receipt at the door of Johnson Hall.
