NORWAY – A new cancer support group for men and women has started at Sacopee Valley Health Center in Porter.
The support group is an initiative of The Grateful Undead in collaboration with the SVHC, and sponsored by the Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine. The Grateful Undead is a nonprofit organization that provides programs and services to support older adults in southwestern Maine.
“Our patients are so lucky to have a group like The Grateful Undead to help fill the gaps around transportation as well as connecting people with resources to help keep them in their own homes for as long as possible,” said Lori Lenart, a provider at SVHC.
Diane Madden, executive director of the Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine, said, “We are excited to be able to be part of this wonderful collaboration and to help bring cancer support services to people living in and around western Oxford County.”
