Student loan basics, borrowers rights topic at May 23 Lithgow Public Library event

AUGUSTA — Sophie B. Laing, staff attorney and student loan specialist at Pine Tree Legal Assistance, will present the basics of student loans, repayment options, opportunities for forgiveness or cancellation based on disability, profession, or school misconduct, and the rights student loan borrowers have at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 23, at the library, 45 Winthrop St.
The event is free and open to the public. It’s one of several Know Your Rights presentations from Pine Tree Legal the library will host in the coming months.
