FARMINGTON — The Greater Franklin Food Council will hold its first ever Snowshoe Frolic and Garden Fair fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the West Farmington Grange, 4 Bridge St.
The interactive 5K snowshoe frolic will meander on a loop from the Whistle Stop Trail in West Farmington through Titcomb Mountain’s cross-country ski trails and back.
The Garden Fair will be held the Grange, and feature hot chocolate and soup, as well as a seed starting talk with Nick Rowley from Cooperative Extension, local music by Sagittarius Rising, a garden raffle, seeds for sale, free seed catalogs, kids activities, local garden vendors, and more.
The frolic beings at 10 a.m., with registration at Whistle Stop Trail parking lot in West Farmington.
The garden fair begins at 11 a.m. at the Grange. The seed-starting talk is at 12:30 p.m.
There is a suggested $10-$25 donation for the snowshoe frolic. The garden fair is free and open to the public.
All money raised support the Greater Franklin Food Council’s mission to foster a healthy food system in greater Franklin County by bringing people together to ensure access to nutritious local food, support local farmers, and advocate for food related programs that strengthen area communities.
