OXFORD – A 3-T auction and free meal will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, at Oxford Advent Christian Church, Route 26, to benefit a mission to Mexico in March by a team from a variety of area churches.
The free meal of beans, hot dogs, coleslaw and dinner rolls will be at 5 p.m., followed by the auction at 6 p.m. The auction will feature talents, treats and treasures, including homemade items, household treasures, art, sports equipment, tools, handmade talents, baked goods and more. Additional donations to be auctioned off can be brought in the night of the auction.
Those attending may also bring donations of new men’s and women’s underwear and socks, which will be distributed to the various centers while we are in San Felipe.
The church will send a team of local people from various churches to the 99 plus 1 Ministry compound in San Felipe, Mexico, March 21 through 29. The team will provide assistance to people in need in the area, including electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs in homes, as well as vision testing and support to rehabilitation centers, senior centers and an orphanage and school.
