LEWISTON – L/A Senior College Food for Thought will kick off the new year with Rabbi Sruli Dresdner and his wife, Lisa, who will bring a picture of the culture of Ukraine through music.
The performance will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, via Zoom. It is free and open to the public.
The duo, scholars of Klezmer and Chassidic music, have performed on PBS-TV and National Public Radio as well as at festivals, concerts and synagogues all over the world. They were featured at the Cracow Festival of Jewish Culture in Poland, the Jerusalem Cultures Center, and in Weimar, Germany. The also teach workshops at synagogues, universities and schools around the country. They are on the faculty of KlezKanada in Montreal and have performed at the Ashkenaz Fe-tival in Toronto.
Sruli is the spiritual leader of Temple Shalom Synagogue Center in Auburn.
