BRIDGTON – Bridgton Hospital is offering an outpatient diabetes self-management program in the coming weeks.
The classes are designed to inform and empower those with diabetes to live well and effectively manage the disease. The instructor is Elaine Drew. There is no charge for the classes.
The classes will include:
• An overview of diabetes, complications, hyperglycemia, diabetic ketoacidosis and hypoglycemia
• Medications for diabetes
• Diabetes process and treatment options
• Goal setting and problem-solving
• Nutrition management: meal plans, carbohydrate counting, cooking tips and dining out guidelines
The classes will all be held at Bridgton Hospital, 10 Hospital Drive from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 29, and Wednesday, Nov. 30.
