LEWISTON – The annual Lewiston-Auburn Stuff the Bus event to collect new toys and clothing for local families, which began Nov. 4, continues through Dec. 13.
Anyone who would like to donate new toys and clothing to help local families in need families may drop off items at the LA Metro Chamber or a partner drop-off location. A wish list and details of what to donate are at discoverlamaine.com/stuff-the-bus.
Last year’s event raised an all-time high number of donations, and organizers are hoping to support more than 1,500 local families, teens, and seniors this year.
On Dec. 13, the LA Metro Chamber Team will travel around LA on a Northeast Charter bus, collecting the donated gifts from the drop-off locations and participating businesses and sort the items. On Dec. 14, the public is invited to the Stuff the Bus Business After Hours at the Hilton Garden Inn Auburn Riverwatch to see the donations firsthand and to network with the Stuff the Bus collecting businesses, bus stops, and distribution partners, as well as members of the Chamber Board of Directors and staff.
On Dec. 15, the collected community donations will be given to LA’s distribution partner organizations.
