Coig to perform in Farmington Dec. 6 to raise money for fuel assistance

FARMINGTON — Celtic music group Coig will perform at Old South First Congregational Church UCC Tuesday, Dec. 6, to raise money for the Farmington Area Ecumenical Ministry’s Heating , which provides fuel assistance to Franklin County residents.
The opening act will be Owen Kennedy, 2022 New England Regional Open Scottish fiddle champion.
Kennedy takes the stage at 6:30 p.m., with Coig to follow at 7 p.m.
Supporting eastern Canada and northern New England communities through fuel assistance and food pantry drives is important to Coig, and the band has included Old South Church in its annual Christmas tour for many years. They were awarded the Franklin Area Ecumenical Ministries’ Salt and Light Award for their continued efforts in supporting the organization’s Heat Share fuel assistance fundraising.
Guest musicians Thierry Clouette (guitar and foot percussion) and Margie Beaton (of the Beaton Sisters, on fiddle) will join Rachel Davis(fiddle/vocals) and Darren McMullen (multi-instrumentalist/vocals).
Doors open at 6:15 a.m. and seating is general admission. Tickets can be bought online at farmingtonucc.org/news–events or Old South Church Concert Series on Facebook. Because of the band’s popularity, online purchase or telephone reservations (207-491-5919) are recommended. Tax deductible donations for the Fuel assistance fund will also be accepted at the concert.
