Leavitt Ski Boosters Cash and Bottle Drive is Dec. 3

TURNER – The Leavitt Area High School Ski Boosters will hold their annual Cash and Bottle Drive from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3.
The Nordic and Alpine ski teams will collect bottles and donations door-to-door. Money raised will provide equipment, new uniforms, and pay for training for skiers from both teams. Leavitt skiers have been state and conference champions throughout the years, and they have gone on to participate in college athletics. The Leavitt Nordic ski team had its best finishes in 10 years in February at the MPA Class B Nordic State Championships, with the girls’ team finishing as state runner-up, and both boys’ and girls’ teams winning the Sportsmanship Award.
Area residents can have all their redeemable bottles and cans picked up, or make monetary donations, right at their door. Ski team members will stop by houses in Greene, Leeds and Turner during the collection hours. Those who won’t be home and want their bottles picked up should email Dustin Williamson at dustin.williamson@msad52.org.
Residents may also drop off bottles at Coach Terry’s Redemption, 8 Tidswell Road.
The drive is sponsored by the nonprofit Leavitt Ski Boosters, which has supported Leavitt skiing for more than 50 years.
