High Street Halloween an annual event in Buckfield

High Street in Buckfield is a hot spot for trick-or-treaters on Halloween, when it becomes transformed into a primarily pedestrian haunt. Every year, hundreds of ghosts, goblins and assorted masked marauders take to the street like monarchs to milkweed.
Mark Pezzano (above, with a trick-or-treater) and his wife, Kathleen McNeil (out with the grandchildren for trick-or-treating) make sure their home is a welcoming spot for kids of all ages. Pezzano says he changes the display every year, swapping the numerous props to keep the event fresh. A particularly disturbing motion-activated witch helped him guard the front veranda this year, and the moving Pez inflatable is a nod to his last name. Neighbors were up to the task, too (below).
