TURNER – Organizers are looking for people and groups to participate in the town’s first ever Christmas Sparkle Parade at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3.
The parade will feature Santa and the Turner Rescue and Fire Department. Area residents may participate by making a Christmas float, decorating a vehicle, tractor, sleigh, ATV or getting a group together to walk in the parade. Participants are asked not to dress as Santa; lights and decorations are encouraged. This is not a town-sponsored event.
The parade route will be the same as the Fourth of July route, starting at Cobb Road to the beginning of Lower Street.
Organizers will collect unwrapped toys for Turner schoolchildren in need at the gazebo after the parade. Monetary donations are also welcome, and will be used to buy items from the Giving Trees at Turner Elementary and Primary Schools that were not filled.
