Lewiston seeks ‘perfect’ tree for holiday season

LEWISTON – The city has sent out a call for the “perfect” Christmas tree, which will be adorned with lights at for the holiday season at Dufresne Plaza, 72 Lisbon St.
City Arborist Steve Murch, suggests that the perfect tree be 30 feet tall and, preferably, a spruce. The Lewiston tree selected must be in an easy access area for a truck/equipment to remove the tree for transport, and the owner of the selected tree will be contacted.
City residents who would like to donate a tree should contact Murch at smurch@lewistonmaine.gov or 207-513-3003, x3443.
“This Christmas tree will be the perfect backdrop for families and friends to snap that holiday photo,” said Mayor Carl Sheline. “I’m looking forward to Lewiston’s holiday celebration this year and coming together as a city.”
