WILTON – The Wilton Farm and Home Museum will host “Native Americans of Our Area,” by Butch Tracy, 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13.
Native Americans first arrived in the area about 12,000 years ago, shortly after the glacier retreated. Recorded history begins with European contact over 400 years ago. The French Jesuit missionaries arrived in the 1600s and there were mission villages at Norridgewock, Farmington Falls and at Canton Point. Many area families trace their history back to native people of the area.
The presentation is free and open to the public. For information, visit wiltonfarmandhomemuseum.org.
