Lithgow hosts election talk, singer-songwriter in coming weeks

AUGUSTA – Lithgow Public Library will host a talk about the mid-term elections and a singer-songwriter in the coming weeks.
University of Southern Maine associate professor and biographer Robert Klotz will review the historical development and contemporary politics of Congress through the lens of an important Maine politician from the Gilded Age at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, in the library’s community room.
On Nov. 1, singer-songwriter Karen Grimshaw, a member of the Hallowell-based band The Blender, will perform. Grimshaw is inspired by her rural Kansas roots and a childhood spent listening to her parents’ diverse record collection, and crafts songs that blend folk, blues and country into intimate stories about love and life. The performance is 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Both events are free and open to the public. The library is at 45 Winthrop St.
