LEWISTON — Lewiston’s fall Citywide Litter Pick Up Day will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, and individuals and teams are being sought to participate. An event overview may be accessed at www.lewistonmaine.gov/litterinfo1015.
“Beautifying Lewiston should be an important goal for everyone. How our city looks makes a difference, and by working together, we can further enhance Lewiston’s appearance and boost community pride,” said Mayor Carl L. Sheline.
The event from 8 a.m. to noon will begin at Kennedy Park, 120 Park St., where Lewiston Public Works personnel will provide complimentary bags, gloves, pickers and buckets. Online registration is available at www.lewistonmaine.gov/litteroct15, and participants may register individually or as a team member. Participation is free.
When registering, options are given for litter disposal:
Return litter to Kennedy Park; Public Works collection vehicles will be on site;
Request Public Works to pick up litter at a specified site noted on registration form;
Call Public Works Dispatch the morning of the event stating a pick up location (207-513-3000, ext. 3450)
Dispose through a participant’s weekly trash pick-up.
