GREENE – Julia Adams Morse Library recently received a $5,000 bequest from the estate of Bert and Betty Murch, long-time Greene residents.
The Murch’s son, Robert, presented a check to the trustees of the library at a recent meeting. He noted his parents’ interest in the library and its history in the community. The Murchs also were supporters of youth athletics in the town, donating land for the construction of a baseball field still in use today.
Christine Gianopoulos, library trustees chair, said, “This generous donation will allow us to expand our services, and encourage more people to take advantage of what the library has to offer.”
