Minot town clerk earns distinguished certification

MINOT — Town Clerk Sara Farris has recently become a certified clerk of Maine through the Maine Town and City Clerks’ Association.
This process includes attending trainings and passing certification testing within a five-year period. The certification serves as formal recognition of Farris’ commitment and dedication to Minot and its residents, Town Administrator Danielle Loring said.
Farris was hired as deputy clerk in 2014 and was promoted to clerk in 2016. She has worked hard to ensure that the town remains in compliance with standards and has sought to improve the delivery of services to those using the Town Office, including rolling out online renewal services for vehicles and dogs as well as tax payments, Loring said.
Aside from being the clerk, Farris is also a resident, which provides her with an understanding of the needs and interests within the community, and she has earned the informal title as the “go to” person in Minot when people have questions or concerns, Loring said. “This speaks volumes about the trust and confidence that the people of Minot have bestowed upon her,” she said. “We congratulate her on this accomplishment.”
