LEWISTON —The Franco Center’s 2022-23 entertainment season has been announced.
“The diversity of entertainment and events this season includes exceptional artistry to present patrons with unforgettable moments while they enjoy live performances with family, friends, and co-workers,” said Elaine Roop, board president. “We are delighted to enrich the lives of those in our community with many types of entertainment. We could not be more excited to bring national and international touring artists to the region.”
The schedule includes rock tribute bands, December holiday events, comedy shows, and a Halloween-season Fright Night (Oct. 25, 26, and 27), which will offer a walk through the Franco Center’s crypt, complete with costumed actors and other scary props.
The free Parlez Vous? French conversation club will continue to be held every other Thursday, and the La Rencontre Franco heritage event will be held four times a year with socializing, entertainment, and lunch (Dec. 8, March 9, and June 22).
Mike Lajoie, Franco Center board vice president, said that thanks to the start of a $7 million capital campaign, repair work and improvements to the building were started this summer. Repair work includes the granite facade and buttresses, as well as air conditioning in the second-floor Performance Hall.
“This is a multi-year project, but we are excited to be able to begin,” said Lajoie.
