ELMIRA, N.Y. — Eliza Beaudin, of Lewiston, Maine, ended her four years at Elmira College with a flurry of academic and athletic honors.
Beaudin, who played on the women’s ice hockey team all four years, graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts in psychology and a 3.94 GPA. She was awarded the Provost Prize in Psychology and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
For her athletic achievements, in July she was named 2021-22 Empire 8 Conference Co-Woman of the Year. This award honors a senior female student-athlete who has distinguished herself throughout her college career in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service and leadership.
Beaudin is the first Elmira College student chosen as the conference’s Woman of the Year.
She also received the Female Outstanding Career Achievement Award at Elmira College’s annual awards banquet, as well as 2022 Winter Booster Club Player of the Year.
A four-year forward on the nationally ranked women’s ice hockey team, she was a two-year captain, was a part of three United Collegiate Hockey Conference Tournament Championships (2019, 2020, 2021), while also helping Elmira to New England Hockey Conference regular season and conference championships in 2022. The Soaring Eagles finished 84-12-4 in Beaudin’s four seasons.
