Former Augusta official returns home as Lewiston’s finance director

LEWISTON – Tracy Roy was sworn in as the city’s finance director on June 2.
Roy was most recently finance director and treasurer in Augusta, a post she’d held since October 2020. She was sworn in by City Clerk Kathy Montejo.
“Tracy has a wealth of municipal finance experience including her recent post at the city of Augusta,” said Heather Hunter, city administrator and former finance director. “She is a Lewiston native and returning home.”
Roy also was Augusta’s deputy finance director/treasurer/tax collector from 2013 to 2020, York finance director from 2011 to 2013, Auburn’s finance director from 2009 to 2011, South Portland controller from 2003 to 2009 and South Portland city accountant from 2011 to 2003.
Roy has a B.S. in business accounting from the University of Maine at Augusta, is a board member of the Maine Government Finance Officers Associatio and has continued her professional training through the Kennebec Leadership Institute and GFOA.
She said she is looking forward to her new role and returning to her home city. “I am excited to start this new challenge and to be working with the Lewiston team,” Roy said.
