BELGRADE – The Belgrade Historical Society will hold its annual meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at the old Belgrade Lakes Grammar School (1929-ca, 1968) and Belgrade Health Center (1969-1999), 11 School St.
The building has been recently renovated, including community event space and member Eric Hoogland will talk about the building’s history at the meeting.
It’s the first BHS annual meeting since 2019, and members and those who would like to be members are encouraged to attend to help the board chart programs and policies for the next year.
Everyone is invited – including friends and anyone who cares about and loves Belgrade’s history. Only BHS members may vote at the meeting. Lemonade and light snacks will be provided.
The historical society is also hosted historical Belgrade films at the North Belgrade Community Center, in partnership with the Senior Resources Committee. The next showing is 2 p.m. Monday, June 20. The NBCC is at 508 Smithfield Road.
The BHS meets from 6 to 8 p.m. the second Monday of the month at the Town Office. The public is welcome to attend. For more information, contact board Chair Dianne Dowd at 617-548-3569 or dilib56@aol.com.
