WFLT hosts North Pond Bog paddle May 29

NORWAY — Western Foothills Land Trust is hosting a paddle on North Pond Bog from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, May 29.
Participants may catch a glimpse of nesting ospreys, red-winged blackbirds, cedar waxwings, flycatchers, as well as springbok plants.
The event is free, but registration is required at info@wfltmaine.org.
The pond spans 273 acres, with a maximum depth of 10 feet, and average depth of six feet. North Pond supports a warm fishery with nine different species present. Bordered by a large wetland complex, the pond predominantly hosts largemouth bass, white perch, and chain pickerel fish species.
