Six Lake Region High seniors recognized by Rotary club

BRIDGTON — Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club feted six seniors from Lake Region High School as the Citizens of the Month for November through April at a celebratory breakfast at Bridgton Community Center recently
The group exemplify service in school and the community. Each student, as well as their family members, friends and teachers were recognized at the breakfast, which was created by Rotarians Carol Rothenberg and Joanne Cohn, key members on the Club’s Youth Committee.
Rotenberg acknowledged each student at the ceremony, and President Jessica Lynn Putnam presented each with a framed certificate and a $100 gift card. About 30 people attended the gathering held at the Bridgton Community Center.
It was the first event for Citizens of the Month in three years. The six were honored all together rather than separately as they have been in years past. Honorees were Libby Blais (November), Sam Brown (December), Abby Elsaesser (January), Sabrina Lopez (February), Brianna Sargent (March), and Shivani Prado (April).
Putnam said, “Congratulations to all the Citizens of the Month. What an outstanding group of young people. For us Rotarians, it was a wonderful occasion for an in-person meeting, something we’ve not done enough of lately.”
