Belgrade Public Library to hold June 2 kickoff for Community Read

BELGRADE – Belgrade Public Library will hold a kickoff for the Community Read at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at the library, 124 Depot Road.
The library staff and Board of Trustees are hosting the event, which is a stop-in open house, with light refreshment and snacks. “Stop in and say ‘hi’ to the trustees and your neighbors,” said Trustee Chair Maureen Milliken. “You can also find out about this year’s book, which should appeal to a wide range of reader tastes.”
This year’s Community Road book is “The Lowering Days,” by Maine author Gregory Brown. Copies are available to borrow at the library, as well as at Oliver & Friends Bookshop, 87 Main St. Events surrounding the read, including an author talk with Brown, will be scheduled for the coming month.
