Free CNA course begins July 14 in Lewiston

LEWISTON – A certified nursing assistant program that begins in July will be offered free to qualified students, through Lewiston Adult Education with support from Central Maine Community College.
The class will run two days a week for 10 weeks. beginning on July 4.
The class will be free for all eligible applicants. Applicants must complete the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System Assessment, an interview and complete a background check by July 1.
CNAs provide direct patient assistance in hospitals, residential care facilities and homes. Students will participate in hands-on lab and classroom instruction along with preparing for the state exam and clinical training at Clover Manor, in Auburn.
“It’s a great way to start your health care career,” Lewiston Adult Education Assistant Director Razell Ward said.
