LRTC 2022 Student of the Year named

LEWISTON — Kristen Little has been named Student of the Year at Lewiston Regional Technical Center. Little “personifies the very best of CTE and has distinguished herself amongst her most talented and committed peers,” school officials said in making the announcement.
Little is a culinary arts student, and her instructed said she is “exceptional student – motivated, professional and always brings a can-do attitude. “
“It’s her commitment to the community that makes her exceptional,” school officials said. “She volunteers for any community service project, leads by example and does the work of three.”
She is a SkillsUSA local and state Gold Medalist in wedding cake decorating and a bronze medalist in local commercial baking.
During the first months of the pandemic, Little volunteered to prepare meals for hundreds of local seniors, veterans and homeless people daily. She devoted hundreds of hours to make sure her neighbors had healthy and delicious meals. Little also volunteered in her church’s music ministry and on a mission to Honduras. She is active in Maine Youth Court and Project 7 Club at Lewiston High School.
Little also maintains regular employment in local restaurants. She is a member of Bridge Academy, NTHS and NHS and earned a ServSafe Manager’s certification.
She is headed to Urshan College, in Missouri, and plans to pursue a career in human services and psychology.
