There are a variety of Earth Day activities scheduled for Friday, April 22, and Saturday, April 23, in central and western Maine, including:
FARMINGTON: Annual Farmington Earth Day Volunteer Cleanup, 1-3 p.m., meet at 204 Main St., the Pierce House, director@farmingtonlibrarymaine.org.
GARDINER: Cobbossee Watershed Cleanup, 8 a.m., Gardiner, BBQ to follow at Boys & Girls Club, 14 Pray St., 11 a.m., cleanup supplies provided, to sign up click here.
LEWISTON-AUBURN AREA (including Minot, Poland, Gray, New Glouceser): Optimist Club Earth Day Litter Pickup, any time, site of your choosing, both Friday and Saturday, gift certificate drawing for participants, email George Matthews gwmthews91@gmail.com, or call 207-783-5269 to register.
TURNER: Earth Day celebration, Maine Outdoor Wellness Center, 69 River Road, Turner, free, demonstrations and interactive agriculture activities.
