Maine Bird Atlas project virtual kickoff is April 21

AUGUSTA – A virtual kick-off for the fifth and final year of the Maine Bird Atlas Project will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21, via Zoom.
The project has collected more than five million bird observations in the state so far. Participants can be avid birders those who simply enjoys watching birds fly around their yard, or someone who takes note of birds while they’re enjoying the outdoors. The project will guide future conservation efforts by the state Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
The two-hour virtual kickoff will provide goals and tips for both those who have already contributed and those new to the project.
