AUBURN – Volunteers who want to celebrate Earth Day by cleaning up their community can also win a free meal at a local restaurant.
The Lewiston-Auburn, Gray-New Gloucester and Tri-Town Optimist Clubs are looking for volunteers for Friday, April 22 (Earth Day) to spend at least an hour walking their neighborhood with family or friends and a trash bag, clearing roadside trash, while enjoying some fresh air and exercise. Those who can commit to volunteering can win a meal at one of 10 restaurants.

Gift certificate winners will be drawn from the community volunteers list. Earth Day cleanup groups are also encouraged to send a photo, which will be posted on the Optimist website.
