RANGELEY — Rangeley Friends of the Arts has received a Discovery Grant from the Onion Foundation to host storytelling workshops. The workshops will be held twice a month with an opportunity for participants to perform monthly.
The workshops will be led by storyteller and Rangeley Lakes Regional School English teacher Tim Straub.
Participants should come to the workshop with some ideas for a story, something that really happened to you. Since you are telling a true story, there are no lines that need to be memorized. In the workshop you will learn to craft your story into its best presentation.
Workshop dates are 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 7, and 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 18.
Performance dates is 7 p.m. Saturday, May 21 (the RFA’s Kitchen Table event).
All workshops and performances will be at the RFA Lakeside Theater, 2493 Main St, Rangeley
There is no fee for the workshops. Tickets will be sold for the performances, which will help underwrite the workshops. Those interested in participating should email Straub at tstraubster@gmail.com.
