Lewiston teen writers, musicians, artists invited to apply for honorary roles

Feb. 42022

LEWISTON – Lewiston High School students with a passion for writing, music and art may apply for honorary positions being established in the city government.
The honorary positions of writer in residence, musician or vocalist in residence and artist in residents are being proposed by Mayor Carl Sheline.
The writer in residence will be occasionally asked to compose written pieces for city events, as well as at times requested to recite their work. The musician or vocalist in residence will be asked to perform music at some city functions and events. The artist in residence will be asked to periodically create original pieces of art for the city.
“A thriving arts scene is vital to the success of Lewiston,” Sheline said. “I’m excited about the city’s public art initiative and our high school’s new performing arts wing. These arts in residence positions enable the city of Lewiston to send a clear message about the value of creativity and art for our future.”
