MONMOUTH – Monmouth Community Players will hold auditions for the musical “The Addams Family,” on Sunday, Feb. 6, and Monday, Feb. 7.
The show was originally slated to be the final show of MCP’s 2019-20 season, but was postponed. It will be directed by Josie French, of Lewiston, with music direction by Josh Caron, of Lewiston, and choreography by Emily Carlton, of Fairfield.
Auditions will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cumston Hall. All those auditioning will start with closed singing, followed by closed mini-choreography and ending with cold reads. Sheet music will be provided for songs in the show. Those singing a song from another show should choose something with a similar style and bring sheet music with them. Song choices should be 16-32 bars, or a verse and a refrain, that show off vocal skills and range.
Rehearsals will be 6 to 8 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The show dates are April 22 to May 1.
