LEWISTON – The city’s “Light Up Your Holidays” celebration will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, and spans both Kennedy Park and Dufresne Plaza. Kennedy Park, 120 Park St., events are 4:30 to 6 p.m., and Dufresne Plaza, 72 Lisbon St., are 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Monmouth Audio & Video Productions has partnered with the city and community members to provide synchronized musical light shows and a laser light spectacular. A huge screen will also be on site to showcase “Home for the Holidays” sharing traditions, as well as visuals of historic Lewiston holidays and artwork.
Performers will provide music and entertainment, including singer Kelly Caufield; Lewiston High School students; Rabbi Sruli Dresdner and wife Lisa; Church of All Nations; and the ADS Church. Santa will be on board for free photos by Creativeone’s Photography, mitten giveaways and free treats.
There will also be Christmas tree menorah lightings.
A Lewiston Public Works bucket loader, decked out in holiday lights, will collect canned goods at Kennedy Park. Items collected will be given to local entities distributing food to those in need.
