SOUTH PARIS — “There’s no such thing as can’t. If you don’t like something, fix it.” These words were instilled in Cortney Muldoon as a youth by her hardworking parents.
Those words became a reality when Muldoon opened Live Life Family Practice at 17 Gary St. this spring.
Muldoon has always been passionate about caring for others as she grew up in Minot. When she began to think seriously about a career, she knew she wanted to take care of her own. The idea of rural medicine and caring for others drove her to become a registered nurse, earning a degree from nearby St. Joseph’s College. She later became a family nurse practitioner, seeing it as a way to put patients first after caring for patients who often had preventable conditions, but could not afford high health care premiums or didn’t have access to local providers.
After working several years in corporate health care, she grew frustrated that patients’ needs were not being met as insurance companies dictated treatment. With increased insurance costs and minimal appointment times, Muldoon knew patients needed a different option.
She bought the building at 17 Gary St. with the goal of establishing a health care center where patients would come first, and the standard high costs and complex business side of health insurance companies would not be a primary concern.
After she and her father remodeled the space, Live Life Family Practice was open for business. Working the front desk is longtime classmate and friend, Robyn Coleman. The practice operates on yearly or monthly membership fees at a lower cost than the large insurance companies.
LLFP welcomes new patients, and offers services such as discounted blood work, genetic testing, annual/acute visits and vaccines.

“At Live Life, we strive to find the lowest costs for patient services including medications, specialty visits and imaging,” Muldoon said. “By eliminating the middle man of insurance and the unknown that goes along with it, we can drive down out of pocket costs for our patients. Patients that already have insurance are also welcome to the practice.”
