Treat Memorial Library gears up for holiday season

LIVERMORE FALLS — After a year in which Treat Memorial Library couldn’t do regular in-person fundraising (including the annual book sale), the library received an American Rescue Plan Act grant of $2,750.
The grant, administered by the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Maine State Library, allowed the library to add $1,400 worth of books for all ages to its print materials, as well as $600 to the DVD collection. The remaining $750 went to programming, which included a concert by Judy Pancoast, as well as new materials to be used when in-person programming is once again safe.
The library staff said it is grateful it could pass the benefits of the grant on to patrons.
The library is no longer requiring appointments to visit, but because of high levels of community transmission in Androscoggin County, masks are required regardless of vaccination status. Masks are available at the door for those who need them. Limit your time to 30 minutes. Curbside service is still available as well.
The library will be closed Friday, Dec. 24, and Saturday, Dec. 25, and will close at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31 as well as be closed Saturday, Jan. 1.
Programming in December includes:
