AUGUSTA — The Kennebec County Soil and Water Conservation District is taking names for those interested in running for a district supervisor position.
Anyone interested should contact the district office at 207-622 7847 ext 3, or 207-480-3927 to get nomination papers. To become a candidate, the nominee must get 25 valid signatures.
Nomination papers must be received at the district office by Wednesday. Oct. 27. This year there is one full three-year term of office up for election.
Candidates must live within the boundaries of the Kennebec County Soil and Water Conservation District, which comprises Kennebec County.
The election is Tuesday Nov. 30. Ballots for the election will be mailed to anyone living in the district who requests one. All registered voters residing within the Kennebec County Soil and Water Conservation District boundaries are eligible to vote.
Completed ballots must be received by 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30.
