HALLOWELL — The Skating Association of Maine’s free Learn to Play program will begin Sunday, Oct. 31 and continue on Sundays through Feb. 20.
The program is designed for new hockey players ages 4 to 7..
The one-hour lessons over 16 weeks are split into two eight week sessions. Each session will take place from 8:20 to 9:20 a.m. at the Camden National Bank Ice Vault on Whitten Road.
There is no cost for new players to participate in the Learn to Play Atoms program. Eligibility for the free program for new players is only valid for the duration of one season. There is a $48 USA Hockey registration fee for players age 8 and older.
Rental equipment is also available for a fee, and includes all equipment except a stick, including purchase of a new Bauer helmet. If equipment is returned, a partial refund and still may keep the helmet.
Free rental skates will be provided by the Camden National Bank Ice Vault on a first come, first served basis.
