LIVERMORE FALLS – Summer may be winding down, but goings-on at Treat Memorial Library aren’t.
Fall into Books is back, beginning in September. Every time you check out a book, you are entered for a chance to win a book in December. The more books you read, the more chances you get. Prizes include books for children, teens and adults, so everyone gets to play.
Thanks to all those who participated in our Summer Reading program: Tails and Tales, including the “Mystery of the Cat Burglar.” The library has donated an item to the local food bank for every book or hour participants read this summer. Patrons who are interested in the library holding another mystery game can comment on the library’s Facebook post about the cat burglar solution.
Treat Memorial Library is now open without requiring an appointment. We request that patrons please still wear masks to protect those who have not been vaccinated, are unable to be vaccinated, or are otherwise medically vulnerable. Please continue to limit your time to 30 minutes if possible. Curbside service will still be available.
New for September the Facebook program “The Book Was Better Tuesdays.” Patrons can tune in and discuss movie adaptations are their favorites.

The Zoom Book Club will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9. The “books about books” theme continues with “The Lions of Fifth Avenue,” by Fiona Davis, a historical fiction about a series of thefts from the New York Public Library. Ask staff if you would like a copy of the book up for discussion and a Zoom invite.
The library will share its favorite titles on its Facebook page at noon, Saturday Sept. 4 and Sept. 18 in Bonkers for Books.
