Rangeley Trail Town, Outdoor Film events are Sept. 3, 4

RANGELEY — The Maine Outdoor Film Festival and Rangeley Trail Town Festival will be held Sept. 3 and 4.
The film festival begins at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at Lakeside Theater, 2493 Main St.
This year’s films take viewers from Saddleback Mountain to the coast and north woods of Maine, on to Montreal, and west to Colorado.
The Rangeley Trail Town Festival is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, on Pond Street, and includes storytelling, games and activities for all, including Gifford’s Ice Cream Eating Contest at 3:00, a marshmallow roast, arts and crafts, exhibits and a raffle.
Rangeley’s Unknown Legend — Joe Montimurro and Nancy Bessey — will provide the music beginning at 1 p.m.
The film festival includes short films about the outdoors, including “More Than a Mountain,” “You Can’t Get There From Here,” “Raised on Rainbows,” “Jeff Labree: Maine Guide,” “45 Minutes By Plane,” “The Ferryman,” “If I Tell Them,” and “The Ghost” (.
Admission to the film festival is $6 for adults, and $3 for Appalachian Trail hikers and children under 12. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
