The Smithfield Food Pantry and Community Garden as been awarded with $1,000 grant, which will be used for improvements to the garden’s raised beds and storage and closet organizers for clothing in the food pantry, which is at the town office, 926 Village Road, in Smithfield. Jodie Mosher-Towle wrote the grant proposal on behalf of the town of Smithfield, and also recognized what could be accomplished to make the food pantry space more user friendly for those in our community who need it, town officials said.
