LEWISTON — Heather A. Hunter was sworn in as Lewiston’s interim city administrator on July 28 by City Clerk Kathy Montejo.
Hunter has been finance director, and is joined by Chief of Police Brian O’Malley, who was sworn in as deputy city administrator. The two are serving in those capacities following the recent departures of Denis D’Auteuil and Dale Doughty.
Assistant Finance Director Ralph Lenfestey was also sworn in as interim finance director and Lewiston Police Lt. David St. Pierre was sworn in as interim chief of police.
“The city of Lewiston continues to be in good hands with the leadership of Heather and Brian, “ said Mayor Mark Cayyer. “Both bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, and I’m confident that municipal operations will continue to run smoothly. As changes occur, new opportunities arise, and this new team is ready to lead us in our continued commitment to growth and development.”
Hunter has been with the city since 1989, serving as deputy city auditor, deputy finance director/city auditor, and then finance director/treasurer. She also was an instructor at Central Maine Community College, in Auburn, from September 1991 to May 2020.
The interim team will remain in effect until the city decides upon permanent replacements
