WINTHROP — Virginia “Ginny” Foster, a resident of Winthrop, was recently recognized by the staff at Spectrum Generations for her 25th anniversary as a Meals on Wheels volunteer.
In 1996, Foster retired from her position with the Winthrop School Department and became a full-time volunteer. Foster, 87, faithfully picks up meals at the Cohen Center in Waterville and delivers them to the Monmouth Police Department for distribution by the officers. Before her retirement, Foster volunteered with the Meals on Wheels program during the summer when she was out of school.
“Ginny is truly the gold standard when it comes to volunteers, and we are so grateful for her 25 years of dedicated service,” said Gerard Queally, president and CEO of Spectrum Generations. “Ginny is such an asset, not only to her community, but also to our Meals on Wheels program.”
