MES Foundation scholarship winners announced

ALFRED — MES Foundation has announced the 14 statewide winners of the Richard H. Pierce Memorial Scholarship, which totaled $220,000 in awards. Established in honor of MES founder, Dick Pierce, who passed away in 2011, this scholarship is awarded based on distinguished academic merit and financial need. “We are always amazed by the accomplishments of our Maine students and we are thrilled to invest in their futures with this impactful scholarship,” said MES Foundation Executive Director Kristie Hurlburt.
Winners are: Four-year renewable $5,000 scholarship: Emme Ayers, Waterville High School; Kylie Levesque, Van Buren District Secondary School; Mary Lombardi, Robert W. Traip Academy, Kittery; Olivia Morel, Leavitt Area High School, Turner; Liam Moynihan, Bangor High School; Ben Retberg, Blue Hill Harbor School; Camden Rollins, Yarmouth High School; Norah Tafuri, Baxter Academy, Portland; Michael Tamborini, Maranacook Community High School, Readfield; Ghilaine Uwimpaye, Lisbon High School.
One-time $5,000 Scholarship: Kalina Chazin-Knox, Medomak Valley High School, Waldoboro; Liam Hornschild-Bear, – Freeport High School; Kaitlyn Paul, Spruce Mountain High School, Jay; Allison Winship, Hodgdon High School.
MES will accept online scholarship applications beginning Jan. 1 through April 1 for the 2022-23 academic year at www.mesfoundation.org.
