SOUTH PARIS — The Paris Public Library Board of Trustees named Connie Allen a trustee emeritus at its June meeting, in recognition of her decades of dedicated service to the library and the Paris community.
Allen retired as a trustee after serving on the board for 41 years, and serving as the treasurer of the organization for most of them. Her connection to the library goes back even farther, from being a patron as a child and becoming an employee in her teens.
With Allen’s retirement, and another recent resignation from the board, there are two vacant seats on the 11-member Board of Trustees. Anyone interested in becoming a trustee of the Paris Public Library is invited to submit their name for consideration by calling the library at 207-743-6994 or emailing paris.public.library@MSLN.net. To be a trustee, candidates must live in the town of Paris and be at least 18 years of age. The board meets the third Thursday of the month.
