Spectrum Generations gets grant for adult day program

AUGUSTA — Spectrum Generations has been awarded a $15,000 grant by Maine Health Access Foundation to support the agency’s Adult Day and Community Support Services program.
“We are so pleased to have been selected for this grant, and for MeHAF’s continued support of Spectrum Generations as we continue to adapt and reinvent ourselves to meet the needs of older adults and adults with disabilities during these challenging times,” said Gerard Queally, president and CEO of Spectrum Generations. “With the motto ‘No worries while at work,’ the Adult Day and Community Support Services program is incredibly important to working families in central Maine who need a safe and affordable home-like environment for a loved one during the work day. This program is vital for many, which is why we’re honored to accept this grant.”
Spectrum Generations’ Adult Day and Community Support Services program is an affordable licensed alternative to more expensive assisted living level services. Anyone disabled or cognitively impaired may attend for an hourly fee, and financial assistance may be available for individuals who meet certain requirements. These services are available at four of Spectrum Generations’ central Maine communities centers, in Belfast, Hallowell, Skowhegan and Waterville.
“Maine Health Access Foundation recognizes the challenges associated with the Adult Day and Community Support Services Program as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is why we are awarding Spectrum Generations with this grant to help with operations while they plan for the post-COVID future,” said Ruta Kadonoff, vice president of [rograms for MeHAF.
Spectrum Generations is the Central Maine Area Agency on Aging and Aging and Disability Resource Center.
