Rangeley Lakes Historical Society holding July 14, 16 events

RANGELEY — The Rangeley Lakes Historical Society has sheduled two live in-person events this month.
At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, the society will hold its annual meeting and historical presentation at Bald Mountain Camps lakeside events tent, on the shore of Mooselookmeguntic Lake.
The event will include a brief meeting to elect officers and share the news of the historical society. Immediately following, retired University of Maine professor Bill Krohn will present “Samuel Farmer (1828-1913): Early Promoter of Rangeley Lakes.”
The presentation is free and open to the public.
At 7 p.m. Friday, July 16, the society will present “19th Century Rangeley in 3D” at the Lakeside Theater, 2493 Main St. The show features vintage Stereoviews and old photographs enhanced and shared in 3D on the big screen, using supplied 3D glasses. The evening will kick off with a collection of rare silent short films accompanied by live music by Stan Keach and Bud Godsoe of the Sandy River Ramblers. Admission is $7, and there will be a cash bar.
There will be an encore performance at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12.
